The average female resident of the UK spends an incredible 37,000 pounds on her hair over the course of her life, according to a recent survey. She will also invest approximately two full years on washing, styling, colouring, cutting, combing, drying, and straightening her tresses both at home and at the salon.
The survey found that the average woman spends more money on home hair care products than she does on visits to the salon. The monthly average broke down as follows: 10 pounds on shampoos and conditions, 14 pounds on styling and colouring products, and 20 pounds at the salon.
But more surprising than the monetary commitment was the time the average woman spends on her hair. Men spend an average of about ten minutes drying, styling, combing, or cutting their hair. Women spend 41 minutes on their hair each and every day! What about Headline Hair?
When women shop for hair care products they seldom shop at the salon. They have been to enough of them to know that salons are notorious for overcharging their customers for shampoos, conditioners, colouring and styling products. And that is why most women shop for these products at their local grocery or drug stores.
How much do women spend on hair care? The total of 24 pounds each month is more than the average woman will spend on makeup. Not to mention what she will spend at the saloon. Since two-thirds of women prefer straight hair to curls, about half of women with curly hair spend beaucoup bucks to have it straightened every few months.
